About this motorhome
This is a very well-cared for unit that has had regular maintenance, and was just fully serviced and passed NY State inspection on September 8, 2021. Here are some details about it:
-The Escapade was Jayco’s entry-level motorhome line in 2005. This unit has no slides, separate rear bedroom, over-cab bunk bed, sofa, kitchen, dinette and full bath. Features include manual awning, outdoor shower and entertainment center, working DVD player and monitor, 13500 BTU ducted air conditioning, 4000W Onan generator, microwave oven, propane range and oven, dual electric/propane refrigerator/freezer, tow hitch and brake controller.
-Its literature says that it sleeps eight, but only if you all know each other *really* well. đŸ™‚ Based on a Ford E-450 V10 Super Duty van base.
-48.5K miles. We are the second owners and have put roughly 23K miles on it since we purchased it in 2016 – mostly long-distance travel to Arizona and Florida.
-Everything works, except for a couple of aftermarket accessories (a satellite radio we have never used, and a backup camera). It has no leaks (after a cab repair – see below) or smells, and has never had mechanical problems.
-It has had two major repairs since we’ve owned it: the front cab bunk was completely rebuilt by insurance ($10K) in 2018 due to ice damage/leaks, and we replaced the roof A/C with a brand-new unit in 2019 (after yours truly decapitated the original A/C on a hotel overhang). Shocks upgraded and generator serviced in 2018/2019.
-A few external scrapes and rust on rear bumper, shown in photos below.
-Ready to camp with all accessories: hoses, two lengths of sewage hookups, 15/30/50W power connectors (30W power), battery charger, leveling blocks, jumper cables, mattresses and some bedding.

Known flaws
Not much – a couple of dings and a rusty bumper. Plus a never-used satellite radio receiver (which reports “Antenna problem” when turned on), and an aftermarket backup camera (control unit died ages ago, Bluetooth camera mounted on back appears to still be functioning).
As mentioned earlier, the over-cab bunk of this unit underwent a complete rebuild in 2018 after ice damage and leaks. They peeled back the skin and replaced all wood, so skin of cab is not flush or tight. However, no leaks whatsoever subsequent to this repair.
In general, this unit is in excellent mechanical and functional condition.
